Luigi Calabrese is a Clio Award winning Italian American Director and Photographer based in Los Angeles. As a lifelong cinephile, he is building a body of work rooted in the sweeping visuals of the silver screen. From music videos to experimental short form content, Luigi is a master of enigmatic, emotionally-driven, high-energy concepts.

His provocative promo for rapper Siimba Selassiie rewrites the Renaissance canon in the light of gun violence and police brutality, placing Black people against a backdrop of power, worship and veneration. Featured in Shots Magazine, Dividing Lines: An African American and Native American Symposium, it was also officially selected in the Los Angeles Indie Film Festival, Bowery Film Festival NY and Blow-Up international Art Festival Chicago.

His short Film “Asphodel Fields” was showcased around the globe at numerous festivals including the Tokyo Short Film Festival, Toronto Short Film Festival, Florence Short Film Festival and the Cannes World Film Festival.

The visuals for Palm Reader were crafted entirely in-camera, capturing an ethereal quality that immerses viewers in its dreamlike world. This homage to cinema was celebrated is set in the historic Los Angeles Theater—the city’s oldest movie house. The video honors cinematic tradition while delivering a modern, evocative experience. Recognized for its artistry, Palm Reader was awarded Best Music Video at the Los Angeles Film Awards, the Rome Music Video Awards, and Doc LA.
